#WeekendCoffeeShare: After Effects

20 Nov

Good morning! And how are you? If we were having coffee, instead of a Monster while pecking away at my MacBook at work, I would invite you out to my breezy patio where we could — in eloquent style — shoot the shit.

Today, I am going to bring up a few things. Mainly things I have seen “trending on FaceBook.”

One

#BOYCOTTHAMILTON … WHAT?!

Apparently, a Hamilton cast member relayed a message to a Mr. Pence who was in the audience and now Trump supporters are trending and trying to get the message out to the masses to not go see Hamilton. What was this message, you ask?

We, sir, we are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents, or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights, sir. But we truly hope this show has inspired you to uphold our American values and work on behalf of all of us. All of us. Again, we truly thank you truly for seeing this show, this wonderful American story told by a diverse group of men and women of different colors, creeds and orientations.

And why do Trumpers feel this way after such a polite and transparently honest message? Because TRUMP himself tweeted that it was “rude” and demanded an apology.

Two

ROB SCHNEIDER

“I haven’t seen the Democrats this mad since we freed the slaves!” he tweeted.

I have no words for the idiocy of this tweet so I will leave you with some Right Winger FaceBook statuses.

“Schneider also sent out a second tweet that wasn’t covered by The Daily Caller.

“I haven’t seen Democrats this angry since we gave women the vote!” he tweeted as well!

There’s a reason that the Republican party is called the “party of Lincoln.” It was the Republican Party that freed the slaves from Southern oppression during the Civil War.

Yes, there has been some realigning of Republican ideology over the years, just like there has been re-aliginging of Democratic ideology, but the indisputable fact is that it wasn’t a Democratic president who issued the Emancipation Proclamation.

Liberals never could handle losing very well. Whenever something doesn’t go their way they riot, protest and otherwise try to disrupt daily life to show everyone how angry they are.

When Republicans lose elections, they don’t take to the streets. Instead they plan for the future and figure out what went wrong. Just look at what happened in 2010, 2014, and 2016 — Republicans spent a lot of time analyzing the loses of 2008 and 2012, and came back stronger than ever.

Rioting and burning cars isn’t going to solve anything. When the smoke clears, Donald Trump will still be the president-elect. It’s about time liberals realized that and stopped disrupting the lives of millions of Americans.”

And this:

“Makes sense, no one was more angry than the slave masters, just like now, only difference is democrat slaves are afraid to bite the hand that feeds them, they’re afraid to be free. But like Harriet Tubman did sometimes people need to be forced so they can see, not under a gun but under common sense ruling by people we put into office to a complete 180 degree turn away from what we were tipping into. Millions will stop at nothing to create the facade of things becoming worse when in reality things are already getting better, the desperation of the slave masters and the fearfully enslaved will increase, and over time the fearfully enslaved will be able to do for themselves what they never thought possible and the voter base for the democrat party will be utterly destroyed.”

Lastly:

“I wish he had a FB account so i could like the fuck out of that post. Seriously democrats, WTF. Democrat party needs to be disbanded for unlawful behavior. If you dont like it here, get the fuck out. Stop destroying everything because you cant have your way like some 2 year old crybaby.”

Thanks for the coffee and the chat. I’m Australian so I’m losing the thread of what’s been going on the with US political scene since the election. It’s all so different to what we have here. I have heard and read about the riots.
It’s now Monday here and my daughter is home from school with very swollen glands in her neck. No symptoms of a cold so I am worried.
I am also recovering from my husband’s 50th birthday yesterday. It’s been a busy time and this coming week my daughter is performing at a huge multi-school concert School Spectacular. She is a mass choir with over 3000 kids. That will see us done next weekend.
It’s a busy time of year!
Take care and thanks for the coffee!
    xx Rowena

Why haven’t I heard about Winnie the Pooh live action!? I haven’t got close to Winnie since my Kingdom Hearts days (its a video game and I’m not sure you’re familiar with it, but I digress) I got my 4 month son a tiger hoody the other day!
